Oh, to vex me, contraryes meete in one: [f. 37v] |
Inconstancy vnnaturally hath begott |
A constant habit; yt when I would not |
I change in vowes, & in devotione. |
As humorous is my contritione |
As my prophane love, & as soone forgott: |
As ridlingly distemperd, cold & hott, |
As praying, as mute; as infinite, as none. |
I durst not view heauen yesterday; & to day |
In prayers, & flattering Speaches I court God: |
To morrow I quake wt true feare of his rod. |
So my deuout fitts come and go away |
Like a fantastique Ague: Save yt here |
Those are my best dayes, when I shake wt feare. |
