O might those sighes & teares returne againe [f. 33v] |
Into my brest & eyes, wch I have spent; |
That I might in this holy discontent |
Mourne wt some fruite, as I haue mournd in vaine. |
In my Idolatry what showrs of raine |
Myne eyes did wast? what griefes my hart did rent? |
That sufferance was my Sin, now I repent; |
Because I did suffer, I must suffer paine. |
Th'Hydroptique dronkerd, & night-scowting theefe, |
The itchy Leacher, & selfe-tickling proud, |
Haue ye remembrance of past ioyes for reliefe |
Of cōming ills; to poore me is allowd |
No ease; for long yet vehement griefe hath beene |
The effect & cause; the punishment & Sinne. |

Father, part of his double interest |
Vnto thy kingdome thy Sonne giues to mee; |
His ioynture in the knotty trinitee |
He keepes, & giues me his deaths Conquest. |
This Lambe whose death wt life ye world hath blest |
Was frō the Worlds beginning slayne, & hee |
Hath made two Wills, wch wt the Legacee |
Of his, & thy kingdome, doth thy Sonnes invest. |
Yet such are thy Laws, yt Men argue yett |
Whether a man those Statutes can fullfill. |
None doth; but all-healing Grace & Spiritt |
Revive & quicken what Law & Letter kill. |
Thy Lawes abridgment, & thy last Cōmand |
Is all but Love; Oh let yt last Will stand. |
